HISTORY OF
FARM TRACTORS.
In 1836 thirty-two year old John Deere had little more than a blacksmith shop.
Using a piece of discarded polished steel, he invented a product that would help farmers change the face of agriculture for all time.
He named his business Deere & Company.
Case tractors originated in Rochester, Wisconsin in 1842 by Jerome Case.
In 1853 he started production of threshers. His company later included 3 partners which changed the name to J.I.
Case & Company with the Eagle Trademark, “Old Abe”. The first Case farm tractor was revealed in 1892.
Farmall tractors were manufactured by Interenational Harvester.
Through the years Farmall evolved as a model and then a brand name tractor later known as McCormick-Deering-Farmall and then McCormick Farmall.
They were a general-purpose tractor that small and medium sized farms could afford and were produced in the 1920s - 1970s.
